Sandra Hardin Gookin, co author of Parenting For Dummies, 2nd Edition, has a degree in speech communications from Oklahoma State University. Her communications background and experience in parenting methods have been the basis for her parenting theories. She is the mother of four boys. Dan Gookin, co author of Parenting For Dummies, 2nd Edition, has written more than 75 books about computers, and his works have been translated into 34 languages. Dan wrote the first For Dummies book (and many after that), so the light, humorous, and informative style of For Dummies books is Dan's style. He is the father of four boys. Marlene Targ Brill, author of Raising Smart Kids For Dummies, is an early childhood specialist, special educator, and mother.
