Bravemouth: Living with Billy Connolly

Bravemouth: Living with Billy Connolly

by Pamela Stephenson Connolly (Author)

Synopsis

Mrs Billy Connolly's tale of a more-than-usually extraordinary year in the life of living with her husband is as insightful, entertaining, serious and wacky as you'd expect from the author of the megaselling Billy. "Bravemouth" is the ultimate insider's view of his filming, his charity works, his sixtieth birthday party, the TV and includes personal insight into what makes him tick, and what makes her tick (it's her year too). It's a celebration but it's interspersed with serious reflection - both on what he does and what she does (the contrast between the inherent seriousness of what she does, compared to the zaniness of what he does). The nature of fame, the challenges of age, the triumph-over-adversity are all themes underlying the many anecdotes that combine to make this into a must-read for Billy and Pamela's millions of fans.

Media Reviews
'An entertaining, vivid and intimate portrait of Billy, which is candid enough to remind you why you wouldn't want to be married to the loveable madman' -- Australian Woman's Weekly 20010101 'In Bravemouth we enjoy the jokes both on and off stage and we go with Billy as he travels to places such as Mexico, Fiji and Africa. We even get to go to New Zealand and make a movie with Tom Cruise! Lots of colour, movement and unadulterated fun' -- The Age, Melbourne 20010101 'A good read, dashed out with the casual flare for timing that Stephenson once displayed in her former life as a comedian' -- Canvas, New Zealand 20010101 'It is a good read written with the casual flare for timing Stephenson displayed in her former life as a comedian hell-bent on flashing satire to the world in shows like Not the Nine O'Clock News' -- West Australian 20010101
