Media Reviews
This is a frenetic comic romp set in the world of DIY TV, where disaster ever looms. Beth, director of On the House, a prime-time homes and gardens makeover show, has to juggle the egos of neurotic TV presenters, sex-mad handymen and furious home owners, and would prefer to do it without the additional pressure from on-high to improve ratings. Tired and stressed, Beth needs support at home - which she doesn't get. Siobhan, assistant producer of the show, is gorgeous and confident (on the surface), with an exciting love life. But in reality, when it comes to men, she has a kamikaze instinct - and her affair with Simon (married, two children) is more off than on. Turner demonstrates a sure hand in this territory.
