The Winter Garden

by RichardRosenfeld (Author)

Synopsis

Even in the depths of winter, there is inspiration to be found in the garden. Bright berries are abundant, evergreen conifers come into their own, as do the glossy leaves of hollies and ivies. Flowers are few, but simple and effective displays with crisp, white anemones, long-lasting hellebores and snowdrops can liven up window boxes, tubs and patios. The best bulbs, shrubs, climbers and trees for winter interest are illustrated by full colour photographs in this book, and vital information on size and hardiness is included. Learn how to use these plants in a range of subtle and dazzling ways to create a wonderful winter display. The text includes sections on planting in beds and borders and also in a variety of containers, and features a range of garden styles and designs. Ensure that your winter garden always looks its best by never forgetting those essential jobs that need to be tackled by using the at-a-glance calendar and by using the extra space to catalogue additional tasks.
