Perfect Small Gardens: The Step-by-step Guide to Planning, Planting and Maintaining Your Garden

by Barbara Segall (Author), Barbara Segall (Author), Peter McHoy (Author), Stephanie Donaldson (Author)

Synopsis

As the popularity of gardening increases, the space available to the average gardener is getting smaller and smaller. The desire to achieve impressive results often conflicts with constraints of time and space, but there is no need for an attractive garden to be a large or labour intensive garden. This guide shows you how to make the most of a restricted area and create an environment for leisure and relaxation out of the most unpromising plot. Four sections - designing the garden, creating planting schemes, gardening practicalities and the good plant guide - take you through each stage of creating and maintaining a successful garden throughout the year.

Author Bio
Peter McHoy started his horticultural career as a seed analyst, but soon moved into magazine journalism so he could share his enthusiasm for plants and gardens with others. During this time he worked on several gardening magazines, both as an editor and a consultant. Peter now spends all his time writing books and running a horticultural photographic library, as well as writing regular gardening features pages for a number of magazines. Barbara Segall is a garden writer and horticulturist, whose work appears in a number of specialist gardening publications. Stephanie Donaldson is the author of many gardening books. She now lives on the sea on the south coast of England where the mild climate allows her to experiment with growing Mediterranean plants in between writing.
