An Encyclopedia of Garden Plants

An Encyclopedia of Garden Plants

by Andrew Mikolajski (Author)

Synopsis

What exactly is a succulent? How can I grow orchids? What are the best shrubs for a shady garden? All these questions and more are answered in this highly informative encyclopedia of common garden plants. Designed to be read for pleasure as well as for reference, this book offers uniquely reader-friendly plant descriptions without the use of intimidating horticultural jargon. Many of the photographs were specially commissioned for this book and clearly show the plants described. Split into two sections, one on staple garden plants, such as trees and shrubs, the other on more specialised plants, such as cacti and orchids, the book is also divided into plant categories. Within these categories, the entries are arranged alphabetically, enabling the reader to go straight to the plant that interests them. Simple care and maintenance guidelines are also given for each, enabling any gardener to enjoy and benefit from this beautifully illustrated reference book.
