Curtains

Curtains

by KatyHayes (Author)

Synopsis

Arlene is a dried-up, but extremely successful Dublin theatrical agent, prone to drinking pints of whiskey and lying on her office floor a lot. She used to be married to Dick, 'Call me Richard', Whelan, now a big B-list personality, whom she wants to star in a play by her new discovery, up-and-coming waif Isobel Coole. But Isobel falls in love with Dick - not a meeting of minds - and the loveless Arlene is rescused from her barren existence by the man from the local deli, who has been making weird phone calls to her for months...Curtains wickedly explores the vanity, callowness but ultimately endearing fragility of human nature.
