Teddy Robinson Stories (Kingfisher Classics)

Teddy Robinson Stories (Kingfisher Classics)

by Deborah Sheppard (Foreword), Joan G. Robinson (Author)

Synopsis

Teddy Robinson was a nice, big, comfortable teddy bear who belonged to a little girl called Deborah. Sometimes a little shy - and sometimes a bit of a show-off - but always ready to make the best of things, Teddy Robinson has captured the hearts of generations of children. Whether he finds himself spending a night in hospital, proudly starring in his very own show, or playing pirates at the seaside, Teddy Robinson's cheerful, endearing personality shines through in this appealing children's classic. Ideal to read aloud, these classic tales of a loveable bear are perfect to share with all young children. First published in 1953, Teddy Robinson and its cuddly hero are true modern children's classics.

Author Bio
Joan G. Robinson (1910-88) trained as an illustrator and began writing and illustrating her own stories in 1939. Among her many stories for children are Mary-Mary, When Marni Was There and the enduringly popular Teddy Robinson. Working closely with her husband, she published over thirty books in her lifetime, many of which were tried and tested on her own family. And her family sometimes found their way into her stories too - Teddy Robinson is a real teddy bear, belonging to Joan's own daughter, Deborah, who herself features in the stories.
