Synopsis

Meet Martin Sargent. He hasn't got a girlfriend (not any more, anyway); he hasn't got a flatmate (see point one) and he definitely hasn't got the gift of tact. But he has got his mates (against all odds), an office crush and a mum who wants him to welcome Jesus into his life. But most pressing of all - Martin's got a disciplinary meeting for improper use of work email...WELCOME TO THE WORKING WEEK is a flinchingly funny look at modern life and the friends, flirtations and foolishness that keep it running.

Book Overview: WELCOME TO THE WORKING WEEK is an absolute must-read for anyone who's ever hit 'reply all' when they shouldn't have... A witty and irreverent debut novel from an extremely talented new young comic voice. Paul writes brilliantly about the pleasures and perils of everyday life - he'll find the schmuck and the hero in everyone. He writes for men and women alike, and punctures the foibles of modern life and love without tipping the balance into cynicism For everyone who was addicted to THE OFFICE, Paul Vlitos proves that there may be no i in team...but there is in idiot... David Nichols, Mil Millington and David Baddiel have proved the resurgence of the modern comic novel - sharp, funny and jaw-clenchingly true to life. Paul Vlitos's new novel, EVERY DAY IS LIKE SUNDAY, is due out in Orion trade Summer 2008

Author Bio
Paul Vlitos was born in 1979. To avoid working in an office that would make the inside of head itch, Paul moved to Japan, where he teaches. WELCOME TO THE WORKING WEEK is his first novel. Considerably more conscientious than his characters, he has yet to send his publishers any inappropriate emails.
