Book Overview: 'This is everything you'd expect of a blockbuster - glamorous locations, ambitious female protagonists and a singing, gliding narrative - but with a little more intelligence' Glamour. Moving effortlessly across five decades, SAFFRON SKIES is a magnificent story of sisters, friends, families and love. Lesley Lokko has proved herself to be an outstanding new voice in commercial fiction. Her first novel, SUNDOWNERS, was one of the most widely-praised and successful debuts in commercial fiction in 2004: 'A very 21st-century blockbuster, this has all the classic elements - nail-biting narrative, absorbing relationships, glamorous locations - with an extra shot of intelligence' Cosmopolitan. 'I enjoyed it hugely, not only because it is a rattling good read but because it's so refreshingly, wonderfully unpretentious' Wendy Holden, Sunday Express. 'We loved Lesley Lokko's debut novel SUNDOWNERS and her follow-up is just as good' Bella. 'Best described as a Blockbuster Plus - in this case, plus a little bit more intelligence and social and political grip than normal ... Agreeably glamorous and pageturning' Daily Mail. SAFFRON SKIES will be supported by a major marketing and PR campaign.
