Book Overview: The latest excellent thriller from the WHS Fresh Talent award-winning author of the highly successful BLACK OUT 'RIPTIDE is one of the most entertaining thrillers I have read in years: jam-packed with incident and rich in human colouring ... the characterisation is inspired. Lawton has brought wartime London to life in all its richness and diversity' SUNDAY TELEGRAPH 'Lawton's marshalling of a large and richly-drawn cast is extremely impressive ... Frederick Troy is a character of real depth and subtlety. His brooding presence at the heart of the novel, at once enigmatic and vulnerable, makes RIPTIDE not only a satisfying read, but also - unusually for a thriller - one with a strong moral heartbeat' INDEPENDENT 'The sense of London during the Blitz is strong and the story, with its mix of real history and believable invention, is fast-paced, twisting and tense... These elements combine to produce a novel that is sheer entertainment' OBSERVER Film rights to RIPTIDE have been bought by Columbia
