Born and Bred in the East End, Dee Gordon is a former recruitment executive but left all that behind to return to her studies. She gained a degree from the Open University in English Literature, and is the author of a number of local history titles, including Voices of Stepney, Southend Memories, Infamous Essex Women, and The Little Book of Essex.
