East End Gangland/Gangland International

East End Gangland/Gangland International

by JamesMorton (Author)

Synopsis

In the first book of this omnibus edition, James Morton looks back at the crimes and the criminals that have given the East End its legendary reputation: the Sabini brothers, nicknamed "The Italian Mob", whose extortion racket was helped by a close relationship with the police; the fight, in the 1950s, for "King of the Underworld" between Jack Spot and Billy Hill; the rise and fall of the Krays and many others. In the second book, Morton considers the history of organized crime, from the Italian and American Mafia to the Triads, the Russian mafiya, the Japanese Yakuza and the South American drug cartels. He also examines the role of the Green Gang of Shanghai, that of Rocco perri in Toronto, the Australian razor gangs, new Zealnd's Mongrel Mob, the Dbois family of Montreal and the French Zemour brothers.
