Maureen O'Brien has spent her life as an actress, playing at the Old Vic and Chichester, and she has also appeared on television (she was Vicki in Dr Who) and in films, most recently as Mrs Lawrence in The Land Girls. She has also written radio and screenplays and several John Bright novels.
