Gabrielle is Wingate Scholar and Honarary Research Associate at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew from 1989-1991 she was Wellcome Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia, researching domestic plant remedies, for which she won the Michaele Janis Ratcliffe Prize for Folklore in 1993.
