It shows the people of East Devon, residents as well as visitors, local events, and some of the delightful landmarks of this beautiful area of the West Country. Local industries are recalled, and the author revisits a time when farming and fishing played a major part in the area's economy. The picturesque villages of Beer and Branscombe coupled with images of the many inland villages and hamlets are featured, showing how village life has evolved over the past century or so. Larger settlements, including the towns of Seaton, Sidmouth, Axminster, Honiton, Ottery St Mary and Exmouth are also included. This selection of over 240 photographs will serve as a wonderful record of East Devon life over the last 100 years, and will appeal to visitors and residents alike.
