  This text provides an overview of the process of change within the construction industry brought about by the introduction of computers. It includes an introduction to what computers can do, how they are currently being used within the industry and the likely implications for the future. The focus of the book is on how to use the existing tools in new ways and it brings together computer hardware and software and management issues. To illustrate the issues surrounding the use of computers in construction, a number of case studies from Europe and North America are discussed.
