The author, Jillian Powell, has an MA from Cambridge University and an MPhil in Art History from the Courtauld Institute, London. She has written many books for children, and contributes regularly to a range of national magazines. The consultant, Anthony Shelton, is Keeper of Non-Western Art and Anthropology at the Royal Pavilion Art Gallery and Museums, Brighton, and a Research Fellow in the Department of African and Asian Studies at the University of Sussex.
