Media Reviews
Extremely well organised ... with a clear structure which leads the reader effortlessly through the book. It is full of useful advice ... many teachers obliged to teach poetry in the National Literacy Hour would find these points useful and illuminating ... littered with well-chosen, striking lines from a wide variety of poets ... colourful, accessible and well produced. It is a book which will really inspire children form 8 to 80 to get to grips with poetry for their own purposes. Don't miss it! -- School Librarian 20031101 Will be welcomed enthusiastically by would be writers of around seven to eleven or twelve. There is plenty of useful, practical information from a practising poet who is also well-used to working with children and encouraging their own writing. ... A useful reference book for schools as well as individual young writers. -- Carousel 20030601
