Media Reviews
'This is a singularly informative, entertaining, but useful book concerning the life of the criminal under-classes of the 19th century...it is admirably constructed to help a young person in developing research skills and should arouse in him or her a taste for historical enquiry.' -- The School Librarian 20021001 'Victorian Crime is a stand-out title in this series, for its unflinching examination of pictures of punishment and poverty.' -- BBC History 20030103
