Muscles and Skeleton (Our Bodies)

Muscles and Skeleton (Our Bodies)

by SteveParker (Author)

Synopsis

This book looks at the muscles, bones and joints that make up the musculo-skeletal system. It shows how this system supports and protects the human body and allows it to move around. It examines the composition and workings of bones, muscles and tendons and considers the problems that can occur when the musculo-skeletal system is subjected to too much or too little activity. The clear and lively text explains these fascinating systems. It also highlights the workings of the human body contrasted with the bodies of animals. There are case studies about, for example, what happens to your bones as you age. There are also features on health and medicine, considering problems that can occur with the muscles and skeleton and what we can do to keep them healthy. Amazing colour photographs combine with original artwork to show the different body parts in detail.
