Sas Guide To Safe Travel

by NickCameron (Author)

Synopsis

There have never been so many opportunities to travel - but the dangers have also increased. This is a guide to minimizing the risks, and ensuring that you have a safe, trouble-free holiday. Nick Cameron, a former member of the SAS, has spent time controlling risks in some of the world's most notorious hot spots. New holiday destinations are opening up, but in many the dangers are very real: every year, tourists are murdered, abducted, killed or wounded in accidents, or fall prey to robberies and assaults. This volume offers information and advice on every eventuality, for business travellers, package holiday-makers and backpackers alike. Chapters include: safety tips for travel by air, car and train; specific dangers (including terrorism and civil unrest) and how to avoid them; personal security - with a special chapter on safety for women; top ten most dangerous cities - and how to survive (and enjoy) them; how to feel safe in the most remote areas and exotic locations; looking after your possessions; and medical safety.
