Synopsis

In Materials, the reader joins Alex as he prepares for a party and a barbecue, looking at all the materials he uses to make sure the event is a success. In Water, Ruth and her friend Shushi in a paddling pool where they make all sorts of discoveries about water, including how it moves and the uses we put it to.

Lynn Huggins-Cooper was a primary school teacher and now lectures in primary science at Newcastle University. She specialises in interactive teaching methods. She also creates wildlife gardens for schools and runs a conservation club. She lives with her family in Northumberland.
