Terrorism (In the News)

by Adam Hibbert (Author), Adam Hibbert (Author), HachetteChildren'sBooks (Author)

Synopsis

A series of books that gives the reader the information they need to understand the issues behind the headlines today. The information is presented in a straightforward and objective way, giving the facts and explaining the issues. Side panels provide definitions and case studies, list relevant statistics and point towards areas of debate. The aim is to enable the reader to contribute towards the debate themselves. The series is illustrated with top-quality reportage photography and produced on a fast-track basis to ensure that each book is as up-to-date as possible. Terrorism takes a step back from the events of September 11th to give a broader and less emotive perspective to the issues that surround terrorism. It considers why people become terrorists, their aims and their methods. It also looks at the most effective forms of counter-terrorism and what the future may hold.
