ANDREA SMITH is a journalist with a science and environmental background. Amongst others, she has written for the Guardian, Sunday Telegraph and Green Futures and she has worked for Friends of the Earth. She lives in Portsmouth. IRIS TEICHMANN is a linguist and writer who has worked for various organizations concerned with immigration; until recently, she was information manager for the Refugee Council. Originally from Germany, she now lives in London.
