Handbook of Business Security: A Practical Guide to Managing the Risk

Handbook of Business Security: A Practical Guide to Managing the Risk

by Keith Hearnden (Author)

Synopsis

Crime directed against business is a serious problem. It includes theft of property, fraud, embezzlement, burglary, criminal damage, bribery and corruption, terrorism, theft of corporate information, and other similar activities. Apart from having a disruptive effect on the running of a company, the results can be financially disastrous. Few businesses can afford to employ security specialists to manage these risks for them. Moreover, most managers find it difficult to identify and assess the threats, and to select the appropriate countermeasures. Choosing the right technology and designing and implementing sensible controls often remain a problem even where the security risks are known. The fully updated edition of The Handbook of Business Security is an authoritative, step-by-step guide to identifying and dealing with the various security problems faced by businesses. In The Handbook of Business Security, Keith Hearnden and Alec Moore cover all the essential topics, including: protecting company premises; office security; employee theft; computer security; fraud and other scams; CCTV and security technology; distribution and transport security; and other crucial issues. The Handbook of Business Security will increase the awareness among companies of the security threats to their enterprises, and arm them with the practical skills needed to minimise these risks.
