Finding Davey

Finding Davey

by JonathanGash (Author)

Synopsis

The little boy's mind floated. People were talking in faraway voices. Calm, warm. The voices droned. When six-year-old Davey Charleston is kidnapped during a family holiday in Florida, his parents must finally accept that he cannot be found. They return to England distraught to mourn the loss of their son. Davey's grandfather however, is not so willing to accept his grandson's disappearance; he knows he must take action but he cannot do it alone. He assembles a group of misfits and no-hopers: Lottie Vinson, a fading redundant editor for a London publisher; retired Florida police officer Jim Stazio; and teenage rebel Kylee, who is semi-autistic and dyslexic but knows her way around computers. Using Davey's imaginary land of 'KV' as a starting-point, Bray compiles a series of children's books with the goal of making them popular in America. He hopes his grandson's buried memories will be triggered and that Davey will be the only person capable of correctly answering his almost impossible trivia questions. With the aid of his unlikely trio of helpers, Bray sets out on his quest of finding Davey before his young grandson's memory finally fades away.
