Author Bio
James Dyer, Series Editor of the Shire Archaeology books, has updated the text for this second edition and included a number of additional sites. During more than fifty years of involvement in archaeology, he has visited every site in the guide, often on more than one occasion. In 1999 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Arts degree for this services to archaeology and education.
