Synopsis

Everyone has problems with their parents now and then, but fourteen-year-old Jaiden Beale's family is a corporation. When he was a baby, his biological parents were killed by a faulty gas valve manufactured by NECorp. To avoid a lawsuit, the company adopted him. Now his bedroom is an office suite just down the hall from public relations, complete with a killer flat-screen TV, a top-of-the-range computer, masses of video games and his own bathroom. But what Jaiden has ever really wanted is to live in a regular house, have a girlfriend, fit in at school and lead a 'normal' life. Is that too much to ask? Yes, when all aspects of your life are regulated by a group of managers and committees known as Team Jaiden. To make matters worse, as Jaiden starts to rebel against his parent corporation, he uncovers some scandalous truths about NECorp. Now he must decide whether to stay loyal to the only 'family' he's ever known or side with his new friends and take the company down. Brilliantly crafted with a fresh teen voice, this thought-provoking book delivers a fast-paced adventure sure to engage and entertain.
