Lemn Sissay's family is originally from Ethiopia, and he now lives in Manchester. He is highly in demand for his performance work at events and festivals. His adult poems are often anthologised, and he has just finished an anthology of poems The Fire People, published by Canongate. Lemn is a high profile performance poet, but crucially his poems are carefully crafted and also work extremely well on the page.
