Miss Peggy Lee: An Autobiography

Miss Peggy Lee: An Autobiography

by PeggyLee (Author)

Synopsis

In this volume Peggy Lee describes her life story. Born in 1920 as Norma Egstrom in North Dakota, her mother died when she was young. Her stepmother abused her and by the age of 14 she was running her father's railway depot while he got drunk. Only when she left her home town did her prospects improve. A turning point was reached when she started singing for Benny Goodman in 1941. The development of her enormously successful singing career is the subject matter of the book and she has just completed two record albums.
