Starting in Watercolour (Art class)

Starting in Watercolour (Art class)

by Charles Bartlett (Author)

Synopsis

An attempt to provide a comprehensive introduction to the techniques of watercolour painting. Basic materials and equipment are discussed and both basic and more ambitious techniques are explained with step by step illustrations. Projects are provided for the reader to use to improve skills. The author, Charles Bartlett was elected President of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1986. The "Art Class" series is aimed at the practical art market and builds up into a structured art course. The series combines equipment, technique and projects in a structured format which is illustrated in colour with step by step illustrations, works by the authors and other artists. The emphasis throughout is on learning through practice and each book contains projects to help readers develop new skills. The series provides a fully worked course in art, though each book is complete in itself and all are written by practising artists and teachers. It is aimed at the leisure artist, but all projects and techniques have been tested by amateur artists to ensure that they are explained correctly and comprehensively.
