Other People's Clothes

Other People's Clothes

by Fiona Shillito (Author)

Synopsis

When ten-year-old Lydia Sargent goes to live with her grandmother in Edinburgh after her mother's death, she finds herself neighbour to the Biscardo family: effervescent, beautiful Rachel; charming, dangerous Max; and taciturn, haunted David. Still reeling from her mother's death, Lydia finds herself drawn to their world, and especially to Max, the most glamorous of them all. Then a shocking tragedy binds the two families together forever in a web of secrets and lies. Throughout her life, Lydia will be haunted by the memory of a terrible sight, and the knowledge that Max, who she will never stop loving, has a side much darker than she could ever have imagined. It isn't until over twenty years later, after terrible loss, poverty and finally recognition and success, that the truth is revealed and Lydia can finally find the peace she craves.
