Young Reading titles features full-colour illustrations on each double-page spread, which include cartoon speech bubbles for added child friendliness. They have been developed in consultation with Alison Kelly, an early reading specialist and lecturer at Roehampton University in Surrey. The Story of Knights is illustrated by Alan Marks who has also illustrated the Usborne titles, A Christmas Carol and Spooks Surprise .
