  While everyone else in the village talks about the new star in the sky, old Baboushka is, as always, busy keeping her house spotless and bright. Three strangers arrive in the village, following the star in search of a new baby king. Baboushka offers them hospitality. When they ask her to join them in their quest, she is too busy to accept their invitation. Later, however, she regrets this decision and follows in their footsteps, carrying with her some toys for the baby. But she has left it too late and, so some say, she continues her quest to this day, leaving gifts for children at Christmas time. A charming folktale which blends the Bible story of Christmas with the tradition of giving gifts.
