Book of Books

Book of Books

by Revd Canon Trevor Dennis (Author)

Synopsis

The great stories of the Old and New Testaments are best understood in the contexts in which they were shaped: contexts which help sift storytelling and history, poetry and prose, chronicle and commentary. Trevor Dennis is an academic theologian with a gift for storytelling. He wanted to write this, his first book for junior readers, to bring them fresh insights into the familiar stories of the Bible. From the Garden of Eden to the Heavenly City, here is the story of God's people retold with verve, humour, insight and originality. Praise for The Book of Books: 'A deceptively simple and brilliantly imaginative retelling of the stories that make up the Bible.' Revd Prof Loveday Alexander, University of Sheffield
