Synopsis

Nothing beats a really good story. From the very first page, this brand new collection of stories and poems promises to be a 'good read'. It gathers together material that explores what it means to 'be me', the sense of belonging, family relationships, friends and enemies, bridging the differences and facing challenging situations. The final section looks at parting - death and bereavement - discovering hope and strength even in the saddest times. All the stories are essentially positive and life-affirming. There is a rich variety both in theme and style. Many well known authors are featured including: C.S. Lewis, E. Nesbit, Ann Pilling, Rumer Godden, Elizabeth Laird, Walter Wangerin, James Berry, and Katherine Paterson.

Media Reviews
Each book (also talking about Star of Wonder) contains a mixture of poems, prayers, stories and extracts from novels. Star of Wonder contains Christmas material and A Feast of Good Stories contains general material. The length of the items makes them suitable for assembly as well as RE. There are contributions from well known authors and poets, and contributions from children. The books are nearly two hundred pages long and provide teachers with a mine of material. An ideal staff-room resource. * Cracking RE *
