Synopsis

The lively tale of a girl who thinks books are boring - until one day her baby brother disappears into one! Jack loves books; his sister thinks they are dull. She wants a real adventure - and that's exactly what she gets when Jack crawls inside his book and she has to chase after him! Tumbling down hills with pails of water, leaping nimbly over candlesticks, Jack and his sister are right inside the many traditional tales and popular nursery-rhymes involving a character called Jack. But will they manage to finish the book before the Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum giant catches them?

Author Bio
Laurence and Catherine Anholt are a husband and wife team who have worked together on over sixty popular picture books. They met as students on a Fine Art course at Falmouth School of Art. Cathy then went on to study at the Royal College of Art and Laurence at the Royal Academy. Their titles include the Walker titles What I Like, What Makes Me Happy?, The Twins Two By Two, Here Come the Babies, Kids and The Big Book of Families. First Words, one of four chunky board books recently published, was shortlisted for the 2000 Sainsbury's Baby Book Award. The couple live and work in a rambliing old farmhouse (haunted, of course!) in Lyme Regis, Dorset, with their three children - Claire and twins Thomas and Maddy. You can find out more about the couple and their books by visiting their website (http:www.anholt.co.uk).
