Author Bio
Vivian French is a professional storyteller as well as an acclaimed children's author. Her many picture books include Lazy Jack; Once Upon a Time; Once Upon a Picnic; Please, Princess Primrose; A Song for Little Toad (shortlisted for the Smarties Book Prize); A Christmas Star Called Hannah and a retelling of A Christmas Carol. She is also the author of the Read and Wonder non-fiction picture books Caterpillar Caterpillar (shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award), The Apple Trees. Spider Watching and Growing Frogs. She has written three collections Under the Moon. The Thistle Princess and Other Stories and The Boy Who Walked on Water - from which the tales in Singing to the Sun (with the exception of the previously unpublished title story) have been drawn. Vivian French lives in Edinburgh and Bristol.
