Author Bio
Allan Ahlberg is one of the most acclaimed and successful authors of children's books, particularly in partnership with his wife Janet, who died in 1994. Among his numerous classic picture books are The Jolly Postman books, Burglar Bill, Peepo! and Each Peach Pear Plum. Allan's other books for Walker include The Mysteries of Zigomar, Monkey Do!, Mockingbird, The Bravest Ever Bear and the first in the series about the Gaskett family, The Man Who Wore All His Clothes. Gillian Tyler is a freelance illustrator whose work has appeared widely in advertising, magazines and books, including The Good Little Christmas Tree. Originally a natural history artist and a miniaturist in style, she found The Snail House a particular pleasure to illustrate. The baby is based on her own son, Solly.
