Rosie's Fishing Trip

Rosie's Fishing Trip

by PaulHoward (Illustrator), Amy Hest (Author)

Synopsis

It's early morning and, with her bicycle basket packed with provisions, Rosie rides off to meet her grandfather near the park. They're going fishing at Periwinkle Pond! While Grandpa waits for a bite and composes a poem, Rosie draws a picture. But when Grandpa gets a nibble, Rosie is quick to lend a hand. The fish they catch is too small to keep, so they toss him back into the water. Then they set off happily for home, where Mum's waiting for them, with lunch ready. It's been a lovely day and, even though they've got no fish, Rosie and her Grandpa have got a jolly poem that they've made up together (it's printed in full on the last page). Amy Hest's books include the Christopher Award winner The Purple Coat and Nana's Birthday Party . Paul Howard has illustrated Jim's Winter , Taking the Cat's Way Home , Friends Next Door and A Very Special Birthday .
