Synopsis

On Sunday, Mum took Jay Jay to Grannie's house. I'll go get Dad, Mum said. I won't be long! Gran is soft and warm and full, full of hugs and kisses. Kiss, kiss. Hugs and cuddles. Every Sunday Jay Jay and his family, uncles and aunties, cousins and friends all come for Sunday dinner at Grannie's. And what a feast they have! Runner beans, peas and yams, macaroni cheese, potatoes and ham, dumplings, chicken, collard greens, pasta salad, rice and red beans. Author Bio
Trish Cooke has a BA in Performing Arts and is both an actress and a writer. Formerly a presenter of BBC TV's Playdays, she has had numerous acting roles in the theatre and on television, and has written three stage plays. She is the author of the Walker picture books, Mr Pam Pam and the Hullabazoo, When I Grow Bigger, The Grandad Tree and So Much, which won the Smarties Book Prize (0-5 Category), the Kurt Maschler Award and the She/WH Smith Under Fives Book Prize, and was Highly Commended for the Kate Greenaway Medal. Trish lives in London. Paul Howard has illustrated a number of stories for Walker. These include several young fiction titles and the picture books John Joe and the Big Hen, Rosie's Fishing Trip, Mockingbird, The Bravest Ever Bear (Winner of the Best Book to Read Aloud Category of the Blue Peter Book Awards), and A Year in the City which won the Primary English Book Award. He has also illustrated the anthology Classic Poetry: An Illustrated Collection.
