by Hayes Sarah (Author)
One Friday night, at the end of Tiffany Street, six cats meet up to dance: Marmalade Ned, Captain Bligh, Delicate Fan, Pitter and Pat, and Shadow, the stray. But then along comes a man with a van who catnaps five of the dancing mogs. Only Shadow stays free, he hides under the seat when the man drives the van away. The man takes the cats to an empty turkey shed where he locks them up and then goes to sleep on a put-you-up bed underneath. All night long though, Shadow sings from the roof of the shed: Never again will the cats all meet to dance at the end of Tiffany Street . The man tosses and turns until he can take no more. He opens the door of the shed and sets the cats free, and four months later, the cats arrive back sore-footed in Tiffany Street - all except Shadow, who sees that the man isn't really bad, but just lonely and sad. So he decides to live with him - at last, the stray has found a home.
