Shane Murphy, PhD, was the United States' Olympic Committee's sports psychology director for 7 years. Murphy has authored or co-authored four books on sport psychology, appeared on many US television and radio stations and articles containing or referring to his work have been published by USA Today, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report and many more popular newspapers and magazines. He also is former president of the Sport and Exercise Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Western Connecticut State University.
