Joseph B. Walker is a patrol lieutenant watch commander for the Reno Police Department in Reno, Nevada. With more than 25 years of experience as a law enforcement official, Walker has served on or supervised the dignitary protection of high-profile clients such as former President Gerald Ford, Martin Luther King III, and Bernice King.
Walker has studied and taught the martial arts and self-defense since the early '70s. A qualified personal safety specialist, he is also an eighth-degree black belt in karate and president of the Kifaru Karate Organization. He devised the school safety contingency plan for the Washoe County School District and authored the Stalking Guide for the Law Enforcement Officers for the Reno Police Department.
Walker lives in Reno, Nevada, with his wife, Coleen. He enjoys spending time with his family, teaching and training in the martial arts, and performing music.
