The Reich Flies the Flag

The Reich Flies the Flag

by Leo Kessler (Author)

Synopsis

A new mission for the hard-bitten men of SS Assault Regiment Wotan. Russia, Winter 1941: The German offensive in Russia has stalled outside Moscow. As German spirits are low, Dr Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, suggests a morale-boosting coup to Hitler. A plan is hatched for a team of Germany's top climbers to climb the highest peak of the Caucasus mountain range, and plant the swastika for all the world to see. The Minister of Propaganda sees it as a wonderful opportunity for German troops to resume their offensive with renewed energy and confidence. He has not reckoned on two factors though: the hostility of the local tribes, who want independence from both Russia and Germany; and a threat from another team of mountaineers - experienced Russian climbers - who are approaching the mountain from the other side. It is going to be a race against time...
