Her work involved her with many of literary stars of the period - Cecil Beaton, John Betjeman, Elizabeth David and Rosamond Lehmann amongst them. She was married to Macdonald Hastings (their son is Max Hastings), and then to Osbert Lancaster. This autobiography is published to coincide with the author's 80th birthday.
