Author Bio
Darina Allen runs the world-renowned cookery school at Ballymaloe, Co. Cork which she founded in 1981 with her husband, Tim Allen. Her television series Simply Delicious has been shown on TV channels around the world and her programmes Simply Delicious Christmas has been repeated many times in response to requests from her fans. She is a natural teacher, whose enthusiasm and energy for her subject is contagious. Darina Allen is the author of nine Simply Delicious books, Irish Traditional Cooking which won the acclaimed Langhe Ceretto-SEI prize, A Year at Ballymaloe Cookery School which was nominated for the James Beard Award in the US and Darina Allen's Ballymaloe Cookery Course. In 2001 Darina Allen was awarded the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year Award.
