Irish Fairy Tales

Irish Fairy Tales

by PeterJones (Illustrator), PadraicO'Farrell (Author)

Synopsis

For generations, stories of 'the fairies' have been filling the pages of Irish literature, as well as enriching a wealth of oral tradition. They could do no evil or good, depending on how mortals treated them, thus ensuring their place in Irish lore down through the ages. Now Padraic O'Farrell re-tells some of the finest Irish fairy tales, with themes as enduring and fascinating as time itself. Many were first told to the author at country firesides over half a century ago and, like a true storyteller, he has spiced his tales with humour and nostalgia, in this re-evocation of a special part of the Irish tradition. Other books by Padraic O'Farrell Ancient Irish Legends Irish Saints Irish Surnames.
