Author Bio
A chance question from her daughter started Jacqueline Harrod on the path to compiling 'The Top 100 Patience Games'. Browsing through the bookstacks of the London Library in St. James's Square, Alexandra asked how many Patience games there are. This led to a dedicated hunt, both in the London Library and also in the British Library Reading Room, for games. They were amazed to discover around 250 of them! From these she has squeezed the 100 most entertaining games into her book, ranging from the infuriatingly simple to those that can only rarely be taken to a successful ending. Jacqueline lives in Littlehampton with her husband, John, and their two daughters. She enjoys many literary hobbies, is a keen writer and has played games of Patience all her life.
